OUR PURPOSE

OUR MISSION

To raise up the next generation of leaders—grounded in Him, equipped with wisdom, and prepared for the real world.

OUR VISION

At TCCS, God gave our leaders the vision to create a space for families in our community—where passionate educators are united by a calling to partner with parents to teach through the lens of a biblical worldview, and students are deeply rooted in faith that shapes every part of who they are becoming. We are building more than a school; we are raising up a generation equipped to think critically, lead boldly, and fulfill God’s purpose for their lives. Through Christian education that blends innovation, future readiness, character formation, and the development of God-given gifts, we are committed to transforming Galveston.

OUR PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The New Covenant, as recorded in the New Testament, is what we accept as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine (1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21).

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons:  Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30).

We believe in Jesus (Matthew 3:17), His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23), His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15; 7:26), His miracles (John 2:11), His death (1 Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7), His bodily resurrection (John 11:25; 1 Corinthians 15:4), His ascension to the right hand of God, the Father (Mark 16:19), and His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11).

We believe we are called to be like Jesus: represent Jesus everywhere we go. We believe that the righteousness of God makes us holy, blameless and above reproach in His sight (Colossians 1:22).

We believe we are children of God, made in the likeness and the image of Him, not from previously existing life (Genesis 1:1,22,27; 1 Corinthians 11:7; James 3:9), but through Adam’s fall, sin came into the world. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the work of the devil and to give His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God (I John 3:8). Salvation is the gift of God to man and only by God’s grace and through faith alone we are saved (John 3:16-19; John 5:24; Romans 3:23, 5:8-9; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5).

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of immeasurable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition of life from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life (Psalms 139).

We believe that new birth is necessary to all men, and when fulfilled, it produces eternal life (John 3:3-5, 2 Corinthians 7:10, 1 John 5:12).

We believe baptism in water is a direct commandment of God. This is a symbol of our belief in Jesus in His death, burial, and resurrection (Matthew 28:19, Acts 8:36-39, Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12).

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sins, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11).

We believe healing still happens today. Given by the power of God through the prayer of faith and by the laying of hands. (Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:17, Mark 16:18, James 5:14-16, I Peter 2:24).

We believe Jesus is coming again. The angels said, “This same Jesus...will come back...” (Acts 1:11). His coming is imminent. ”For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever." (I Thessalonians 4:16-17). Following the tribulation, He shall return to earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Then, together with His saints, who shall be kings and priests, He shall reign for a thousand years (Revelation 20:6).

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31). Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are unacceptable and are not in accord with Scripture nor the beliefs of TCCS.

Our Statement of Faith is not exhaustive of all of our beliefs. The Bible, as the inspired and infallible Word of God, speaks with absolute authority regarding the proper conduct of mankind and is the unchanging foundation for all belief and behavior. The Third Coast Christian School Board of Trustees holds final interpretive authority on biblical meaning and application with regard to faith, doctrine, policy, practice, and discipline.

PHILOSPHY OF EDUCATION

God gave our Founder the vision to create a space for families in our community—where passionate educators are united by a calling to partner with parents to teach through the lens of a biblical worldview, and students are deeply rooted in faith that shapes every part of who they are becoming. Our highest priority is to raise up students who look like and live like Jesus – the ultimate servant leader.  We intentionally work to assist parents in producing young people who know and love Jesus, follow Him in life, and become positive, productive members of Galveston in the coming generation.

Our education is based upon a God-centered, Christian approach to education rather than a man-centered, current culture of the world approach.  We believe that a Christian school must develop the mind at the highest level of excellence while building Christian character. Our philosophy of education encourages competition, hard work, humility, and the value of living under a free enterprise system of government.

Our central educational goals include a commitment to the following:

Provide a first-rate education that equips each student with essential academic knowledge and skills, as well as the ability to reason, to think critically, and to solve problems for success in the world (Proverbs 1:2-8, 2 Timothy 2:14-15)
Develop a biblical worldview in all areas of life and equip students with the ability to defend faith (Deuteronomy 6:5-8, Colossians 2:8)
Encourage students to live out their calling to pursue daily discipleship (Matthew 22:37-40, 28:16-20)
Build character and spiritual self-discipline with right attitudes, respect for authority and peers, strong personal work ethic, responsibility for actions, and love for God and others (Philippians 2:5, 2 Peter 1:3-11)
Develop the servant leader qualities that are found in the ultimate role model – Jesus (Matthew 20:25-28)
Ground students in the truth that they are “fearfully and wonderfully made” and that God has a unique plan and purpose for their lives (Psalm 139, Jeremiah 29:11)
Equip students with career and technical skills to compete in a fast changing world through the application of technology to the learning process (1 Chronicles 22:15).
We believe the content of Christian education must be in harmony with “whatsoever things are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable” (Philippians 4:8).

The classroom method should be teacher-directed (Deuteronomy 6:7) with the student acquiring knowledge through various methods and curriculum.

Every aspect of campus life, is an opportunity to gain knowledge and skills, to show leadership, and to make good quality decisions. The Scriptures tell us that God created man and the universe and that He is the author of the order and reason reflected in His creation. Therefore, the TCCS system of education is rooted in teaching objective reality with absolutes, as opposed to being rooted in subjective relativism. Therefore, all instruction is presented in the unchanging truth of the written Word of God.

“the student who is fully trained will become like the teacher.”  – Jesus Christ (Luke 6:40)
